Brad Wardlaw Announces Campaign for Hamilton County Commission District 2 Republican Primary

Brad Wardlaw is launching his campaign in the Republican primary to serve the residents of Hamilton County District 2.

A lifelong resident of Hamilton County, Brad grew up in Hixson, attended Red Bank High School, and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with degrees in Business Administration and Human Resource Management.

Brad began his career in real estate, working alongside his father renovating homes, learning the value of hard work. Today, as a licensed real estate agent and small business owner, he leads property management, construction, and excavation operations that directly impact housing, infrastructure, and responsible development. His experience includes renovating and managing properties to expand affordable housing opportunities, giving him real-world insight into growth, budgeting, and delivering results for the community.

Brad is committed to using his professional experience to address what he believes are critical shortcomings in county leadership. His top priorities include infrastructure improvements, public safety enhancements, developing a comprehensive senior tax plan—from tax freezes to full elimination—and actively recruiting new employers to strengthen the local economy.

“Our county is more than 20 years behind on critical infrastructure improvements, yet current elected officials continue to ignore the problem. The current District 2 Commissioner has previously supported higher-density development without meaningful plans to address its impact. Hamilton County needs leadership that sees the bigger picture and understands why residents are concerned about unmanaged growth. Growth and conservation can coexist—but only with responsible planning and accountability.”

Brad and his wife, Brooke, have proudly called District 2 home for more than 10 years. Brooke grew up on Signal Mountain and has fond memories of the town pool, and today their children, Carter and Camilla, love playing at the Pumpkin Patch.

Brad has been actively involved in the community, coaching with North River Soccer Association and the lower school team at Chattanooga Christian School. He has also volunteered through Junior Achievement at CCS, teaching business and economics to the next generation.

Currently, he serves on the committee for Northside Neighborhood House’s Not So Silent Auction, continuing his commitment to strengthening the community his family calls home.

Brad is committed to being a commissioner who ensures every resident feels heard, valued, and respected.
